how do I "build" a xoddo?
building a xoddo is an exercise in trial, error, and experimentation... simply put - you click on the parts you want, move them where you want'em, or to delete it just drag the part back to the picking area where you got it.

templates for uploading your own artwork?
Uploading your own artwork? Our rules are fairly simple... the better your original artwork looks, the better your final products will look. Using the information on this page will help you create designs that work great on Xoddo products and our partners products too.
Templates Use these templates in your favorite design software.
Adobe Photoshop PSD template
Adobe PDF template
* in both cases you are going to need to delete the template before uploading.
or just start uploading art and see what happens...
Image types Xoddo supports images in JPEG or PNG formats. Both will give you acceptable results. PNG supports transpareny which is important for little elements and clip art. Just make sure that your image is saved with a high enough resolution for printing on the size of the product that you're considering*. We recommend saving your files using an RGB color profile. CMYK is not supported.
RGB or CMYK? f you're not sure what format your image is saved as - it's probably RGB anyway. CMYK is not used that often anymore unless you are a professional artist, and then you should know the difference. Image size and resolution.
The rules are simple - try to save your artwork at the minimum ppi (pixels per inch) or higher to ensure quality printing. Higher resolutions will generally have better results, but don't go crazy, it's not needed, and upload times will take much longer as well as viewing.
Our process is fairly forgiving because we are generally printing on fabrics, but the same rules apply that you would expect with other printed materials. The higher the resolution the better the output. Please note that with todays cameras it's easy to make your files too large to even be able to upload them. Just keep an eye on the recommended file sizes (see table below). If the art looks crisp when enlarged on the Xoddo canvas you're probably ok.Keep in mind the types of products that you might want to turn your xoddo into and size them accordingly.
file size requirements A good rule of thumb would be to upload based on standard xoddo size. If your photo or artwork is nice and clear then you're probably ok. Just remember there is no magic that will make a poor photo any better. If your image is a little bigger or smaller than recommended don't worry about it. You'll be able to move it and scale it once it's on your building canvas. If you know for sure that you are going to go big, and you know what you are doing then uploading higher resolutions is recommended.
