Whats the Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act? The Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) was passed by congress in october 1998, with a requirement that the Federal Trade Commission(FTC) issue and enforce rules concerning childrens online privacy. Does Xoddo collect personal information from children under 13? In accordance with the Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act - We do not collect the personal information online from children under 13 without their parents consent except in limited circumstances. However, in order to save your xoddo for later viewing or purchasing, users will need to provide a user name and password (there is still no personal data collected at this point. We recommend that parents with children under 13 that are uncomfortable with sharing any information, create a screen name and password with their child so that they can use, and remember it for such purposes. With your verifiable consent, we may collect personal information from your child such as a first and last name, address or email address when necessary. If we need more than just your childs first name (or screen name) and email address for a particular activity, we will ask your child for your email address so that we can notify you of your childs request and get your permission. When we ask for your permission, we will tell you what we will do with the information you or your child provides us with, and allow you to review your childs information, and request us to delete it if required. We dont keep your childs email address unless youve given permission.
